    So Long 2005

So 2005 is coming to a close and a new year is ready to take over. I figured to mark the occasion I would look back at some highlights of the year (off the top of my head of course)

    • Katie moving to Ossington, nice place, comfy couch and getting to see Steph and Kyle more was a bonus. Oh and Super Model Pizza!
    • occasional Sunday dinners at the Rocks
    • getting to know Tony and seeing how much him and Bosco got along.
    • poker nights and game nights
    • great trips to Ottawa and Halifax
    • getting my ipod and a new computer, burning dvds is fun!
    • march madness pool with the Rocks
    • My Dad recovering from his quad bypass and bouncing back fast
    • quitting my job and moving to Halifax in October
    • brewtender!!
    • the Al days, the last one especially. I still think Dave would of gotten over the wall first
    • Kevin and Angela's wedding! that was a good time!
    • 31st bday get together with the gang
    • bowling nights
    • realizing I did not need hockey to live haha
    • the many tasty brunches in the BWV
    • Katie moving (again) to Halifax the day after our 1 year anniversary!
    • The Keg dinner the night before! Keg Mansion none the less
    • survivor bets! winning 1 and losing 2
    • me and Bosco riding in a limo from the Halifax airport!
    • going to a Raptors game and city in some really good seats! We had a waiter
I am sure there are so many more and if you have the time you can always look back in the blog to read about them.

happy new year everyone and I will post again in 2006!!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    Break up the Raps!

another win on the road!! They have won 4 of their last 6 and everything is good in Raptor land again.

Mike James and Charlie V are taking the load of Bosh and the D is starting to pick up. My only complaint is I have not seen a game in weeks thanks to the blackouts!!

anyways I am at work, happy new year to me haha.

I will check in later on

    peace out

    Friday Im at Work!

Im at work once again doing the thing I do.

    highlights from yesterday:

    • good day at work, things make a lot more sense and I did quite a bit with out even worrying about getting a second opinion.
    • bus trip home took awhile, stupid people getting out of the movies.
    • Bosco went 14 plus hours all alone at home and was a good boy!! He was pretty hyper when I got in but it was all good. We went for a nice walk before I came home to relax.
    • opened some mail and had some more Christmas cards. Get this, I got one from that god damn moving company that ripped me off. It came with a fridge magnet and signed by the whole company. You think they are looking for a karma fix? My sister sent a nice present as well for Katie and I, sadly she sent a gift card for the LCBO and it wont work out here. Oh well next time we are in Ontario, drinks are on us.
    • I had a tea and some pie and then went to bed. Pretty exciting eh??
    • now I am back at work and it is a brutal day here, super windy and rainy. I hope you all are gearing up for a great New Years!
    • oh one last thing, I got a pay cheque! woo hoo
    later yo

    NBA 2005 look back

    2005 memories, paparazzi-style

Nick and Jessica-style breakups no one saw coming: Mr. Sonic Nate McMillan leaves for Portland; Flip Saunders axed by good buddy Kevin McHale.

Britney and Kevin-style breakups everyone saw coming: Vince Carter forces Toronto's hand for a ticket out; Larry Brown lands his "dream job.”

Weird Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise-style union: Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant say I do, again.

Apprentice takes off: Pat Riley re-constructs Heat, replaces Stan Van Gundy.

Color controversy: Some fools cite Jamie Foxx's Oscar victory for his lead role in Ray as a form of affirmative action for the cinematic world. In the sports world, others idiotically point out Steve Nash was handed the MVP award because he's white. Sigh.

Kiefer Sutherland award: The Bulls and Wizards made long-awaited returns to center stage. Don't look now, but here come the Clippers.

thinking about lunch as I do some general website clean up.

    A working Thursday

10:36am:  just working on some NFL previews and trying to get the day going. I will update through out the day. I am trying out the email publishing tool so I can still blog away much easier.

    Best of 2005

    Ebert's Best 10 Movies of 2005

    BY ROGER EBERT / December 18, 2005

How in the world can anyone think it was a bad year for the movies when so many were wonderful, a few were great, a handful were inspiring, and there were scenes so risky you feared the tightrope might break? If none of the year's 10 best had been made, I could name another 10 and no one would wonder at the choices. There were a lot of movies to admire in 2005. These were the 10 best:

    1. Crash
    2. Syriana
    3. Munich
    4. Junebug
    5. Brokeback Mountain
    6. Me and You and Everyone We Know
    7. Nine Lives
    8. King Kong
    9. Yes
    10. Millions

    getting back to normal

Well Christmas has come and gone for another year and things are getting back to normal. Katie just left for Toronto for a few days to see her family and ring in the new year. She will be back late on Sunday night. I am working every day anyways so it is a good time for her to get away. Not much going on today, I am going to take it easy since I am working a long stretch.

    Highlights since I last wrote:
    • On boxing day evening we went downtown for some dinner and to see a movie. Spring Garden Rd was very quiet and not a lot of places were actually open. We ended up going to Your Fathers Moustache. I had this spicy pasta dish and Katie had this giant burger. After that we went over to the movie theatre and saw The Family Stone. It was a good Christmas movie, it had laughs, sad parts and good acting.
    • Yesterday we went to the mall and braved the boxing day sales. Nothing was open here on the 26th so yesterday was the crazy day. I got some boots that were much needed and I like them alot. Katie found what she needed to get and I also picked up an xbox game that was part of my present from Katie. I got Tiger Woods 2006 for Xbox, I wanted it but I also got it because I know Katie would play it too. So we played quite a bit of it last night and Katie even got a hole in one already. You would all laught to see how into it she gets.

that is all for now, I may add some stuff later since I dont think I will feel like it over the next few days.

for you Chappelle Fans, go here to see a funny trailer for his upcoming season 3.

    The Crazy Days of Christmas!

Hello! well it has been some crazy days of Christmas over here and I am finally getting to some bloggin. First I hope you all had a great Christmas with family or friends or if you are away working (Tone) you had some drinks and some fun.

With all the holiday stuff and starting a new job and working every day it sure has made it tiring but it has been good. Where do I even start?

    Dec 24th:

    • it was a lazy and relaxing day, Katie played some xbox golf, I had some naps and we did watch Elf to get in the spirit! Some last minute gift wrapping and everything was set.
    • We had a nice dinner, a PC torta strata I think it is called. Pretty good and I tried to have a beer but it made me even more sleepy.
    • We went to midnight mass, it was about a 15 minute walk and it was a nice, big church with a pretty decent turnout. I know my mum would be happy that I went. I know Katie liked it as well, it just helps with the mood and the feel good part of the holidays. It was really mild out too so it made for a nice walk there and home.

    Dec. 25th:

    • We slept in until about 10 am and then the fun started. We made a tea and coffee and went to the living room to open stockings and the presents under the tree. As you can see from the pictures it was fun and we scored some good stuff.
    • My highlights included a Brewtender and video game from Katie, gift cards to Future shop and Chapters from my parents and Katie's parents sent me some kitchen stuff and a nice sweater from the show Katie's dad just worked on.
    • Katie's highlights included lots of chocolate and candy, some work out clothes and money for a gym membership from her parents, a gift card for chapters from my parents and I got her a travel mug and other little things. Due to just starting a job I am going to get her presents when I have money coming in again . She was very happy tho with all her loot.
    • Bosco got a few new toys as well so dont worry that he missed out.
    • After presents there were some phone calls and then we made up a brunch of eggs and bacon. That was tasty for sure.
    • The rest of the afternoon was pretty lazy, I watched basketball and napped and Katie napped and played some golf.
    • I had to work at night so we made up our big dinner a little early but it was good stuff. Katie prepped and made a full on chicken and we had mashed tators and carrots and rolls. For dessert we had some pie and I was pretty full by the time I went to work.

    Dec 26th:

    • So far today it has been a dreary and rainy day so it was perfect for sleeping and relaxing. I slept in late and Katie watched a movie and played some more golf.
    • We took Bosco for a walk and got some fresh air.
    • tonight we are going to go out for a bite to eat and see a movie. All our energy will be needed tomorrow when we hit the mall!!

so I hope you are having a great time and I hope to hear about it soon. I have a few days off to try and catch up on everything so drop me a line and say hi.

until next time, enjoy the pictures.

    Return of the Cuzzy

Good morning everyone how is their Friday going? I am back after a 2 day vacation from blogging but certaining not a restful one. I started the new job on Wednesday and it has been a tiring but good 2 days. I have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn but I feel I am picking it up pretty good. It is all about learning a new routine and what has to be done when. I will try and do my best to catch you up on everything but I may forget some stuff.

    • the trip to and from work is better than I thought, the bus is not too hard and I may even get some rides home now and then.
    • first day I had the tour and met a lot of people that were all friendly and welcoming.
    • there was a pizza day for lunch the first day so that was cool.
    • the building is pretty big and I hear we are moving to a newly added part soon that is an even nicer set up than we have now. There is this huge break room with a kitchen and the center piece is a huge flat screen tv, xbox and a couch for breaks.
    • my work area is newsroom like, with cubicles and tv's and I have a computer and 2 monitors in front of me. It is a pretty casual environment so there is a lot of talking and joking around.
    • The guy I am paired up with and who is training me is very friendly and is doing a good job of training me. I will be working with him all the time so it is good to get someone you can get along with.
    • I spend the day watching the news feeds and taking sports stories from it, editing it, adding a pic and adding links to the story and then it goes up on the site. This is a pretty basic description , it does take a lot of time and detail.
    • Basically we keep the page fresh and with the newest stories that will help someone bet or pick their bets. Once games are started they really are not of concern to us anymore.
    • The days are long but they do fly by due to how busy you can get. I think once I carve out my own routine and know when things can be done it will be a lot better. It is that whole overload of information right now but I feel I am picking it up better each day.
    • The people are great and it is a fun environment to be in so that makes it a lot better.
    • if you have any questions I may have not covered feel free to ask and I will get to them.

    OTHER NEWS

    • almost ready for Christmas, we are going to get some groceries today for all the eating we plan to do.
    • Katie is enjoying here vacation.
    • Bosco and Katie are getting along just fine and she is doing a great job taking care of him and walking him.
    • Raptors keep winning on the road, it is a mystery.

thats all I can think off, funny how you work on a computer all day and now being on one at home is not as enjoyable.

talk to you all later and Merry Christmas if you are off to wherever you are going.

    December 22

    Please be patient

Hi all, have not had a lot of time to write, the new job is going well, long day, tiring but fun.

I will update you all tomorrow when I am off and have more time to write.

    talk to you all soon

Brush with Fame and a long time crush

From a msn chat I had with my sister today:

.....the guy that I mentioned before...anyways he is filming a movie and one of the stars is Rowdy Roddy Piper...he put him on the phone the other night to talk to me...I talked to Rowdy Roddy Piper...remember used to have a crush on him..........he is gonna get his autograph for me

talk about an early Christmas gift for my sister.

    Never Fails

Just when I give up on the Raps they go and give hope again. A gutty win without Jose and Charlie V for sure.

    (5-20)

    92

    (9-13)

    90

They started out pretty bad and by the time I tuned in it looked like it was going to be a repeat of Sunday. They hung in their and showed some toughness that has been lacking. I guess now I have to believe again?

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Toronto Raptors have clearly established two things this season: They don't mind playing on the road and they are not afraid to shoot 3-pointers. Peterson and Chris Bosh each scored 19 points for Toronto, which snapped a three-game losing streak. James made a 3-pointer that gave the Raptors the lead for good with 1:16 remaining.

Notes: Second-year forward Bosh has led Toronto in scoring 14 straight games. ...

In other news my dad had his hernia operation yesterday and it all went well. I hope the pain goes away now and he can start 2006 all new. I am still sick but I can feel it going away today. Woke up today able to breath through my nose. Perfect timing since I start work tomorrow. I am pretty excited although still not too sure about this bus thing. Oh well I will figure it out.

Quite a few cards have been coming in the mail so that is fun, thanks to all who have sent stuff so far. We are pretty much fully decorated and ready for Christmas. Just have to pick up a few things but I am looking forward to it.

It is kind of dull looking outside today with some fresh snow on the ground. Good day for going to a mall dont you agree haha. Yep I have to head over there for a few things later so I hope I dont lose my mind.

Katie and I took a gift over to her boss's house last night (they are just around the corner) for the tree they got for us. We had Bosco with us and were invited in. Kara (the boss) has a young daughter just learning to talk and she was very intrigued by Bosco. She could not say Bosco so she kept calling him Bob. As we were leaving you just hear Bye Bob....

I am going to go and get to my list so I can have some time to enjoy this last day off before becoming a working guy again. I think everyone should get several weeks off in a row to unwind and take a break from work. Yeah right, it was enjoyed but certainly not by choice.

    have a good day everyone.
