Monday morning brewGood morning and welcome to a new week. Can you believe August is here already! (tomorrow)
Not a lot of news going on over on Kline Street. Yesterday was pretty relaxed since I came off my night shifts. Had a few naps, watched a few episodes of Deadwood, went for a few dog walks, nothing too thrilling. Ordered up some chicken wings and pizza for dinner which was very tasty.
I heard from Katie, she is having a lot of fun with friends and family over there in Ontario. I know she is ready to get back out of the crazy heat. Sounds like she has eaten and drank well. Maybe she will even check in when she gets back??
I am currently listening to the Miami Vice soundtrack, it is pretty good. I think we are going to go see it tomorrow night so that will be exciting. Can't get enough of that Colin Farrel! haha.
Okay the tea is done, time to get a move on with the day. It looks like another nice day and since it is the third nice day in a row I am very skeptical on how long it will last.
Have a good day everyone.
July 30 Deadwood CuzzySo with all my extra time to watch TV over the last few days (while not working) I have started watching season one of Deadwood. I have always been skeptical about the show and if I would like it. I have never been a huge fan of Western type shows or movies and I did not really think that would change. ![]() Friends, critics and a second season of the show prompted me to give it a try finally. I am half way into episode three and I have to say I am hooked. It kind of feels like watching a dark version of Little House on the Prairie after they left Walnut Grove. The acting is strong and the story line so far is excellent. I have so many questions that I am sure will be answered as it goes along. The drunk, female cowboy is really creeping my out that is for sure. So Kevin, it is true I am enjoying a Western kind of show. I mean I did like Unforgiven back in the day so it is not a total lost cause. Later on today when I am done work for the week I plan on watching as much of season one as I can and then start downloading season two. Katie is not back until Monday night, I am sure I can watch all of them and still have time to clean up the place. The week ahead As I mentioned Katie is back on Monday so that gives me a few days to myself. I am planning on doing a lot of relaxing and hanging out. If the weather is nice I will be in the backyard with some beers and Bosco. If it is raining and crappy, I will be inside with beers and Bosco. The Yaris drive is getting closer to happening. I hope to get to the dealership this week with Katie to get that ball rolling. August is here already so I would love to get in some more bike riding. I have not done too much and it feels like summer is just flying by. That is all I can think of for now, I think I will get back to work. I will leave you with this shocker of a news story. Lance Bass is gay. ![]() July 29 Cuzzy likes youtubeJust a few things I came across on my Youtube tour tonight. Steve Carell - Not My Parrot! Finally the movie I have been wanting to
see all summer comes out. I am talking about Miami Vice of course. Okay laugh it
up but I am serious when I say I want to see this flick. Ever since I saw the
first trailer, heard the JayZ/Linkin Park riff belting through the theatre, I
was hooked.
Check out the trailer here if you have not seen it
yet.
Here is the official site
A Review from the Chicago Sun-Times
Katie and I are planning on seeing it on Tuesday after she
is back from Toronto. I know I have already hyped it to the point of
disappointment but I do not care. I will find value in this classic summer
popcorn flick.
Please pass along your thoughts.
July 27 Sunny dayJust a quick post before I head downstairs to make some food. Katie just left a short while ago for Toronto. She will be back Monday night. I am working nights so I may not even know she is gone until at least Sunday.
Not much going on. Went to the gym today and on the way home we ate at Spartan. Thanks to everything coming with fries, I broke my string of days without the crispy golden treats. I know Kevin is smiling somewhere.
I know the weekend has not started yet but I am going to wish you all a great weekend since who knows when I will feeling like blogging.
Here is something for all you Raptors to get excited about.
It is the
Youtube - Andrea Bargnani summer league highlight reel enjoy!
also check out my first contribution to You tube. Have a great day July 26 wrapping it up8:08pm
The home stretch, wrapping it all up and getting
the site ready to pass to the next group. It can be a little hectic taking stuff
down and putting new stuff up as games start but it is not that
bad.
My Mum caught up on the blog and can picture the
Commons now for the big concert.
I hear it is a toasty one in Toronto. Why on earth
does Katie want to go there for the weekend?? Anyways she is leaving tomorrow
and it will be a man's house all weekend. Me and the farm.
I will blog from home I imagine.
I will leave you with a quote from an email I just
got from Kevin.
side salad...that's pathetic....and you call yourself a
man...ha ha. shift is going on6:10 pm
Well most of the others have gone home for the day
so it is relaxing again. Headphones on, working on whatever needs to be done
until it is home time.
Raptors made some more moves today, so thats cool.
Cant wait for the NBA season to roll around again.
That is about it for now, I know pretty exciting
stuff.
oh my god4:24 pm
there is new candy on the desk. hot
tamalies......my favorite.
day is slowing down a bit, time for a
tea.
wine gums2:42 pm
My supervisor has wine gums on his desk today so I
had to have some. Not bad at all.
Just about to walk over to Wendy's for some lunch,
sun is out but it does not look that warm. It has been a weird summer out here
on the east coast. I think the most we have ever had is 3 days in a row of nice
weather.
My beef today is the Halifax city and how we never
know if it is garbage week or recycling week. Even looking at the sched, there
is no way to tell because they don't follow it. Lame.
Did anyone know Jennifer Tilly won the World Series
of Poker?
ok thats all for now. Day picking up1:19pm
The morning slows are over and things are now
getting a little busy. That is a good thing since it makes the day go by
faster.
they are shooting some kind of video in our area so
I have to go and look professional
haha whatever Meatballs11:46 am
I made some home made meatballs the other night and
had them with some tasty pasta. A good meal for sure.
We took Bosco for a walk up to a local ice cream
place to get a cone. We enjoyed the treat on Bosco's big day. Too bad he was not
allowed to have any.
Just had a bagel to tide me over to my food break
later. Mmmm bagels are yum.
I am sure you have all heard by now that the Stones
are coming to Halifax in September. It is going to be crazy, 60-80 thousand
people at the Commans just down the street. I am sure we will be able to hear it
from our backyard haha. Anyone gonna fly over for some Stones?
Ok back to work, man this working and real time
blogging thing is hard,
Tea10:54am
Tea is good that is for sure
For a slow work day, it is a cure
Warm and tasty, full of sweet
Only thing better is if it was from down the
street
Oh tea you are my friend
but for now I have work to tend
real time bloggingThe Last Few Days
So with work it is sometimes hard to keep up with
the blog so today I am just going to write in bits when I get a chance. I will
time stamp it just so you can follow along. I know, very exciting but I bet you
are all tired of reading about Bosco's birthday!
10:28 am - Working away doing some
baseball previews. The mornings are generally slow which is a nice way to ease
into the day. The weather is cool and moist. The one thing out here that is very
different from Ontario is the fine mist that will be in the air. It is wet and
you know it is there but it really does not bother you.
Started Jpod on the bus today. Should breeze
through this book for sure. After JPR called the other day to ask about the Nano
I figured at some point I should give you all an update on how I am enjoying the
Nano experience.
Likes: slick black colour, cool colour screen and
the light weight size. I like the clock where you can have many different time
zones and I like the fact that it can hold some pictures. It is very good for
the gym as well. I miss my big 40 gig beast but this little power house is doing
the job.
Dislikes: the headphone jack being on the bottom is
annoying just cause it is different and when you want to pinch and unplug the
USB plug you have to take out the headphones too. Minor but thought I would
mention it. Of course there is the obvious lack of space, 250 songs but I knew
that going in. Not your fault Nano!
ok back to work for a bit until I think of
something else to blather about July 24 A Bosco birthday!Happy birthday Bosco, wow the big 3! Where does the time go???
Too bad it is pouring with rain, we could of gone for a nice walk down to the water. Oh well you will have to make due with a lot of presents and attention today.
Have a great day with lots of treats and naps!
The Cuz.
July 22 Was there delight in our Pizza Delight visit?Good Saturday morning to you all, how is the day going so far? Here it is rainy and gloomy so there is no big rush to get the day going that is for sure.
Yesterday felt very long and it seemed we were away from home for a long time too. We made the trip out to Bayers Lake to check out some stores and hopefully pick up a few things. The problem, on the way there the leftovers of a local storm rolled in and it made things very wet and windy. We certainly did not enjoy walking in it as we went from store to store.
Here is the roundup.
Old Navy- did not buy but we looked around at a lot of things. Katie was less than pleased with their selection of tank tops.
Home Sense (only to avoid rain)- we picked up a wooden bread box for the counter, a paper towel caddie thing and two large patio glasses. It is hard to go in that place and not pick up somthing.
Chapters- stopped for a Starbucks break to dry off. Katie had a hot chocolate and I had a cookie. Looked around and picked out some future purchases.
Future Shop- What is a trip out to the Lake without a trip to the future. Katie picked up an arm band holder for her ipod for the gym and I picked up some DVD's. Admired the flat screen HDTV's for a bit too.
Pets Unlimited- Went shopping for some presents for Bosco. They had a chocolate puppy there too, 2000 bucks! wow Bosco was a bargain haha. Checked out the fish section for future purchases too. Finally decided on a few things for Boss and out the door we were.
Bulk Barn- Oh my Katie went a little crazy here. 1o bucks worth of candy but that really does not tell the story. It was the heaviest bag we had to carry from all our purchases so far.
Pizza Delight- Ok finally we were going to eat. Pizza Delight was close and we laugh at the commercials so much we figured what the hell. One of their calling cards is a bar where you grill your own bread and this actually had me excitied. So it was sad to find out that they did not actually have this! What is with all the advertising and commercials if you do not have it. I recovered from that let down by eating a whole pizza with 10 toppings. It was only a 9 inch one, calm down I am not that big of a pig haha.
Back on the bus and finally home.
So despite the monsoon weather we made it home to dry off and relax.
We watched Hotel Rwanda and went to bed.
That is all for now July 21 Picture PartyJust some picture action for your viewing pleasure.
Kevin on his recent cottage vacation
My Mum finally got her film developed from Kevin's wedding
The family all dressed up
I look a tad drunk but lets focus on how great Ang looks!
I am training for the next Olympics,100M freestyle
Taking down some laundry
No idea what they are but they are sure nice to look at ----------------- updated blogs Blog blahsWell it is the lazy days of summer and just like most people there the blahs of doing work or even blogs are setting in. The creative juices are not flowing as much and most days posting is feeling more like a "have too" than a "want too". The World Cup is over, nothing exciting or good is on TV, the weather just makes you want to live in the backyard and not even want to go near a computer. Friends and family are doing the same, on vacation and taking a break from email etc. So where does one get their ideas and motivation to blog each and every day??
Katie suggested writing more things that are controversial or even made up just to grab readers back but as you just read, I don't even feel up to doing that haha. So I apologize for a watered down July and August here at Cuzoogle. I am sure the interest in card games and what I am not eating are not that interesting.
I have also been having the urge to start another blog because the most fun is the creating and starting of one. I guess it is like anything, it is more fun in the beginning. The Chocolate Dog Blog is doing really well with a core group of followers so I am happy with that and even considering stepping that one up too and making it more professional.
Even at work things are pretty slow with a lack of sports going on right now. I mean how exciting can it be when all there is to work on is baseball.
I have been trying to download new music and watch new shows and do a lot of things outside the ordinary. Katie and I have been doing a lot of new and different things this month and I guess for me it is just trying to keep things fun. Not that it is not good but you know how it is. Boat cruises, new foods, going to the gym, cards etc. Even going for walks and bike rides down different streets and digging out clothes that have not been worn for a while. I find it can open your mind again and get the thoughts going. Who knows maybe I am just crazy haha.
I also feel that this lull is only going to be short lived because there is a lot of potential big changes coming soon. Katie and the job thing, Kevin and Angela maybe moving to Boston, changes at work, car hunting etc. I have a feel the blog ideas will be flowing again soon and once September hits, things will be very interesting again.
Things of note:
That is all for now, have a good Friday.
July 18 Tuesday's with CuzzyGood day, just doing the daily blog thing while I have my tea. It is my transition day so I am off to work tonight. That leaves me with most of today to do whatever I want.
The gym is calling me so that is the plan after lunch.
The big news is the birthday nano arrived yesterday and I opened it up lastnight. Thanks again Katie! woo hoo. Music again.
It is all set up and slowly getting full on tunes. Just as an update on the first ipod, still no word on the future of it and I am still going to try and get it fixed when the surplus of cash is around.
Not that much else to pass along really. Summer is rolling along, hot day, cool day, rainy day, hot day seems to be the pattern. It is not great but I enjoy it more than the Toronto summers of everyday is a gross and humid day.
Looking forward to the weekend!!
have a good one.
Angela is in Boston this week on job interviews, wish her luck! Kev is ready for a change and can't wait to go.
